Donny Osmond • The Osmonds •

Donny Osmond is an American singer, actor, and television personality. He gained fame alongside his four older brothers as a member of the Osmond Brothers, a barbershop quartet performing on Andy Williams' television show in the 1960s.

As a solo artist, Donny Osmond became a teen idol in the early 1970s with hits like "Puppy Love" and "Go Away Little Girl". Later, he ventured into acting and television hosting, notably hosting the game show "Pyramid" and the reality competition show "Dancing with the Stars".

Osmond has also performed in musical theater, starring as Joseph in the touring production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in the 1990s. As of my knowledge cut-off in September 2021, Osmond was still active in the entertainment industry. For the most current information, you should look up recent sources.

Donny Osmond was born on December 9, 1957, in Ogden, Utah. His family was deeply involved in music and entertainment, and he became a part of the Osmond Brothers' act when he was only five years old. The group, consisting of his older brothers, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay, initially sang barbershop music, but later transitioned into pop and rock.

During the 1970s, Donny Osmond was one of the biggest teen idols in the United States. His success peaked with singles like "Puppy Love" and "Go Away Little Girl", which both reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In the late 70s and early 80s, Donny paired up with his sister, Marie Osmond, to co-host the variety show, "Donny & Marie." The show was a hit, combining music, comedy, and popular guest stars. The show ended in 1979, but Donny and Marie later reunited for a successful Las Vegas residency that lasted from 2008 to 2019.

In the 90s, Osmond starred in the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," which saw great success. He also ventured into game shows, hosting "Pyramid" from 2002 to 2004.

In the 2000s and beyond, Osmond continued to maintain a high profile. He won the ninth season of "Dancing with the Stars" in 2009 and released multiple albums in this period, continuing his recording career.

Offstage, Donny Osmond is a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has been married to his wife, Debbie, since 1978, and they have five children together.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Donny Osmond had just released his 65th album, "Start Again," and announced a solo residency at Harrah's Las Vegas. For the most recent information, please check the latest sources.
