Wiaan Mulder
Pieter Willem Adriaan Mulder (born 19 February 1998), commonly known as Wiaan Mulder, is a professional South African cricketer and all-rounder who has represented the national team across all formats since 2017. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler, he plays domestically for Gauteng and has featured for several teams in international franchise leagues. Mulder was part of the South African squad that won the 2025 ICC World Test Championship, marking the country's second ICC title.
Early Life and Education
Wiaan Mulder was born in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. He attended St Stithians College, where his cricketing talents began to flourish. He played age-group cricket for Gauteng, starting from the Under-13 level.
Domestic Career
Mulder made his first-class debut in October 2016 for the Highveld Lions against Cape Cobras in the Sunfoil Series, while still in school. His debut was remarkable—claiming seven wickets, including 3/10 in the first innings.
Before his domestic debut, he was a part of South Africa’s squad for the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
He made his T20 debut in November 2016 and his List A debut in February 2017.

In 2019, Mulder played three matches for Kent before being recalled for national duty. In July 2022, he scored his maiden double century in first-class cricket (235*), while playing for Leicestershire.
International Career
Mulder made his ODI debut on 22 October 2017 against Bangladesh, becoming a South African international at just 18 years old.
Though selected in several squads in 2018 and early 2019, he made his Test debut on 21 February 2019 against Sri Lanka.
He debuted in T20 Internationals on 16 April 2021 against Pakistan, and was later named in South Africa’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
In October 2024, he scored his first Test century, an unbeaten 105 against Bangladesh*.
